37th Crescent Hotel

After two decades of successful operation, this boutique hotel in the heart of Bangalore was in desperate need of a makeover. The project required creative design solutions to revamp not only the exterior facade but also the interior lobby and coffee shop, all within a constrained budget. Material selection for the entire project was limited to a carefully curated palette based on color tones, texture, patterns and durability.

The facade was clad with blasted sandstone and contrasted with darker brown hues and bronze metal elements.

This thematic continuity extended into the lobby, featuring light beige terrazzo tiles, bronze floor trims and sandstone, with varying tonal nuances integrated into the ceiling. The ceiling design transitioned from the exterior to the interior, creating a seamless flow from the outdoors to the indoors. In terms of furnishings, soft beige fabrics were elegantly paired with white oak wood for the furniture and off-white stone for the counters. Fluted glass was strategically employed in specific areas to enhance privacy and introduce an added layer of texture.

A distinctive motif was woven throughout the space, appearing in various scales from the entry door to the reception's rear wall and the coffee shop entrance. Once inside, the material palette was carried forward with modifications, featuring burnt umber fabrics and pine wood rafters, which introduced an additional layer of tonal variety and texture.
